Yesterday afternoon a member reported that there was a log burning off of the trail, just past the bridge. Staff went down to investigate. It appeared someone was having a campfire, and they left the log burning. This had the potential to be a very dangerous situation, as we were experiencing high winds yesterday.
We want to remind everyone that campfires are strictly prohibited in Sun Cove. As per section 6AI of the Rules and Regulations: "No campfires, anytime, anywhere, including outdoor wood fireplaces, wood or coal fire pits."
Furthermore, that land just past the bridge is Chelan County PUD property. As such, using that land is a privilege to us that can be taken away. If we find any further instances of campfires, we will call the authorities.
